The main groups of regulated pollutants are carbon monoxide CO, hydrocarbons HC, nitrogen oxides NOx and particulate matter PM. The limits depend on the standard and vehicle category.
Please note
HC denotes hydrocarbons. Euro 6 requirements for light-duty vehicles and Euro VI requirements for heavy-duty vehicles are not one and the same table.
A simple explanation
Euro emission standards limit pollutants such as carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides and particulate matter. Their limits and test methods depend on the vehicle category and the stage of the standard. Euro 6 for passenger cars and Euro VI for heavy-duty vehicles must not be treated as the same table.
