QUESTION 275Not studied yet

Do 'transport work performed within Lithuania' and 'work performed by trucks registered in Lithuania' mean the same thing?

Scope of Lithuanian transport-statistics measuresCompared with sources

Answer

No. The first measure covers work within Lithuanian territory, while the second may also include work by Lithuanian vehicles abroad.

Please note

Tonnes and tkm are also different measures. This question does not assert a current Lithuanian market share.

A simple explanation

Eurostat road-transport data may be compiled by the vehicle's country of registration, while modal shares use a territorial basis. Before comparing, check the year, territory, units and transport modes included.

REMEMBER

A country's name in a table does not tell you where the distance was travelled.

For an instructor and a small group: choose one C/CE freight transport topic in the Lithuania and EU context. Use your own devices, including a phone and a computer.

  1. 3 questions. In ‘Recall’ mode, first answer in your own words, then read the explanation and mark what needs more review.
  2. A lesson and a diagram. Discuss what they explain and which conditions matter.
  3. One scenario. Decide before revealing the solution. Explain the reasons for your chosen action.
  4. A few quiz questions. Read the explanation for each option. You can finish the quiz early; the remaining questions will be marked as unanswered.
  5. Discussion. Everyone names one useful point and one thing that needs correcting.

How can you share or suggest a correction?

You will find the question link and feedback field below this section. Lessons, diagrams and scenarios have their own ‘Copy link’ button. ‘Suggest a correction’ helps you prepare a note with the specific link and version label. Copy or download the text and pass it on for review.

Discuss: is it easy to find an answer and return to the question? Can you explain the reason and the limits of the rule's application? Which sentence is misleading? Flag any significant legal or safety uncertainty for checking before using the material.
