Lithuania, the EU and other countries
Poland · Russia · China · India · United Kingdom
We first study Lithuania's rules and applicable EU rules. Europe is not only the EU: the route, national law and international agreements matter for each journey. Here we compare a few selected differences.
We choose sources for their relevance and reliability: they may come from Lithuania, Poland, other EU countries, the United Kingdom, Russia or elsewhere. A source's country alone does not determine which rules apply in Lithuania. The scope and sources for each comparison are provided alongside it.

Plan enough opportunity for sleep, suitable stopping places, food and water in advance. Assess your alertness before departure and adjust the plan with your employer if you will be unable to drive safely.
Please note
This concerns fatigue prevention, not calculating legal driving and rest requirements or assessing an individual’s medical fitness.
A simple explanation
A recorded rest period alone does not show whether a person has actually had enough sleep. Working at night or at unusual times can make it harder to stay alert, so preparation must also take account of how you actually feel. If you are drowsy, the journey must be rescheduled rather than trying to hide a lack of sleep with coffee.
Plan actual sleep and safe places to stop.

How can you share or suggest a correction?
You will find the question link and feedback field below this section. Lessons, diagrams and scenarios have their own ‘Copy link’ button. ‘Suggest a correction’ helps you prepare a note with the specific link and version label. Copy or download the text and pass it on for review.
Discuss: is it easy to find an answer and return to the question? Can you explain the reason and the limits of the rule's application? Which sentence is misleading? Flag any significant legal or safety uncertainty for checking before using the material.
