Know the actual maximum height of the combination, including load and equipment, and compare it with route restrictions and road signs. If in doubt, stop in a safe place before the obstruction.

Do not try to squeeze under a bridge that is too low or bypass a restriction by altering the vehicle's position without authorisation.
A simple explanation
The highest point may be the load or equipment, not the cab. Reassess height after changing the semi-trailer, coupling height or load; an old record or habit of using the same road is insufficient.
