Lithuania, the EU and other countries
Poland · Russia · China · India · United Kingdom
We first study Lithuania's rules and applicable EU rules. Europe is not only the EU: the route, national law and international agreements matter for each journey. Here we compare a few selected differences.
We choose sources for their relevance and reliability: they may come from Lithuania, Poland, other EU countries, the United Kingdom, Russia or elsewhere. A source's country alone does not determine which rules apply in Lithuania. The scope and sources for each comparison are provided alongside it.
You feel well the morning after drinking alcohol in the evening. Are feeling well and drinking coffee enough to decide that you can drive?

Keyboard: space barAnswer
No. Alcohol may remain in the body the following morning, and coffee or a cold shower does not speed up its elimination. If you have doubts about your sobriety or ability to drive safely, do not drive.
Please note
There is no number of hours after which sobriety can be guaranteed for everyone. The Lithuanian legal limit is not calculated in this question.
A simple explanation
The time it takes to eliminate alcohol depends on the amount consumed and individual circumstances. Having slept or feeling better does not prove that the alcohol has gone. Therefore, when planning to drive, the safest approach is not to drink alcohol and not to rely on a universal “hours after drinking” formula.
Feeling better is not proof of sobriety.
