A simple explanation
Compressed air is essential for the proper operation of the air-brake system. Checks assess pressure build-up, leaks, warnings, and the tractor unit's and trailer's brakes. A low-pressure warning must not be disregarded in the hope that the retarder or the remaining braking capacity will be sufficient.
