Maintain a safe speed and following distance. After stopping safely, report the delay, agree on a realistic arrival time and, if stress or fatigue interferes with driving, rest and change the plan.

Do not handle messages or complex work conversations while driving. If your condition prevents you from continuing safely, the journey must be postponed.
A simple explanation
Pressure to meet an unrealistic schedule can encourage unsafe speeds and distract you. First restore safe driving conditions, then address the organisational issue with the responsible member of staff. Being late does not reduce the distance needed to stop or remove the need for rest.
Deal with delays through planning and communication, not speed.
